What to Expect at Your First Sound Bath
If you’ve never experienced a sound bath before, the simplest way to understand it is this: it’s an opportunity to rest while sound gently guides your body into deep relaxation.
In my sound bath sessions, I use clear crystal quartz singing bowls, each tuned to correspond with one of the body’s chakras — the energy centers associated with physical, emotional, and energetic balance. The bowls are also infused with Reiki energy, supporting a sense of harmony and regulation throughout the body.
All of my bowls are tuned to a 432 Hz frequency, a tone often associated with natural resonance and calm. Many people find this frequency feels softer and more grounding than standard musical tuning, helping the nervous system settle and making it easier to drop into a meditative state.
We begin with a brief 5–10 minute guided meditation designed to help you shift out of thinking and into sensing — allowing the body to relax before the sound experience begins. You simply lie down, get comfortable, and receive.
People often describe feeling deeply rested, mentally quiet, or emotionally lighter afterward. There is nothing you need to do or believe — just listen and allow the sound to work on both body and mind.
I offer monthly group sound baths in Omaha at Yoga Now and Omaha Massage and Healing Arts, and I’m also available for private sound bath experiences for birthdays, families, colleagues, organizations, students, and small gatherings.
